Infrastructure
I strongly support infrastructure projects and investing in our local communities. Infrastructure is one of the best uses of government funds because it not only improves everyone’s lives, but it creates good jobs and helps to grow our economy. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed in 2021 was a great start, but we still live in an America that has many roads and bridges that are well past their expiration date and need to be upgraded. We need to build upon this and it’s important that we have all stakeholders at the table when making decisions on where and how much to invest in projects; this includes local community leaders, union leaders, and environmentalists to ensure we’re building a sustainable future. We should be leading the world in renewable energy projects instead of falling behind because of partisan politics.
My opponent in this race, Tom Emmer, voted against the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, at one point calling it President Biden’s “socialist wish list.” Of course, this doesn’t stop him for taking credit for the projects in our district that were paid for by funds from the very same program:
>>> Emmer voted against infrastructure bill, then sought its funding for Minnesota highway project
>>> Republicans repeatedly criticized Biden’s infrastructure program. Then they asked for money.
